Logging in using device authorization
Any Skills learner can use device authorization to make logging in to our desktop apps easier. After you authorize a device, you’ll be able to log in without entering your username and password. If you change your password, you won’t need to re-authorize your device.
Important: Each device should only be authorized once. For optimal app performance, remove any duplicate authorizations from your Account page (opens in new tab).
Device authorization for the macOS app
- Open the Pluralsight macOS app.
- Click Sign in.
- Click Use Single Sign-On (SSO).
- Click Authorize your device with a code.
- Click the 6-digit code that appears to copy it to your clipboard. Each code expires after 15 minutes.
- Click pluralsight.com/auth (opens in new tab) above the code. This will open a login page within the app.
- Log in using your Pluralsight credentials. This will automatically take you to the Devices tab within your Account page (opens in new tab)
- Paste the 6-digit code in the Security code field, then click Add device.
Your device has been authorized.
Device authorization for the Windows offline player
Note: If your plan uses an SSO, you will need to use this method to log into the Windows offline player.
- Open the Pluralsight Windows offline player.
- Click Sign in using a Company, School, or Digital-Tutors account.
- Take note of the 6-digit code that appears, then go to pluralsight.com/auth (opens in new tab) on a browser. Each code expires after 15 minutes.
- Log in using your Pluralsight credentials or by using single sign-on. This will automatically take you to the Devices tab within your Account page (opens in new tab)
- Enter the 6-digit code in the Security code field, then click Add device.
Your device has been authorized.
Removing authorized devices
To remove a device from your authorized devices list:
- Log in to Skills from your browser (not the desktop app).
- Click your avatar in the navigation menu, then click Account settings.
- Click the Devices tab.
- Click Remove next to the device you want to remove from your authorized devices list.
Logging in using SSO (macOS only)
Note: SSO login for the desktop app is only available on macOS. To log in to the Windows offline player using an SSO, use device authorization.
For users on a team plan using an SSO with the macOS app:
- Open the Pluralsight macOS app.
- Click Sign in.
- Click Use Single Sign-On (SSO).
- Enter your company URL and click Continue.
- If you're not currently logged in to your SSO provider, you'll be redirected to your SSO provider and prompted to enter your credentials.
