When a course is decommissioned, you can still access it, but the content isn't kept up to date.
Courses are decommissioned for a number of reasons:
- The course is outdated and there’s no course to replace it.
- The cloud platform provider (AWS, Azure, etc.) has had a major exam change or release. This means there will be a replacement course to ensure the learner is fully equipped and prepared for the exam.
- Sometimes the course just needs general updates. At A Cloud Guru, we strive to ensure the courses are relevant, fun, and easy to follow. If we notice a course could be better, we make improvements.
You can often find reasons for course changes or new releases in the course description. Review these to determine if you should switch courses. For example, if you’re halfway through the Certified Solutions Architect Associate course and a new version is released, consider switching if it’s more streamlined and covers new content. You can still use the old course to prepare for and pass the exam, but the new one may be more beneficial.
