Paths

  • Updated
  • In this article, you’ll learn how to use paths to take the guesswork out of upskilling—so you can stay on track and spend less time figuring out what to learn next.

Paths are curated collections of courses and resources designed to help you master a specific skill area. They combine courses, Skill IQ assessments, practice exams, and other tools into one structured learning experience—for beginners or beyond. Most paths are organized into levels like Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced, so you can learn in the right order and at the right pace.

    What's in a path

    Topics

You’ll find paths for topics such as:

    • Cloud
    • IT Operations
    • Software Development
    • Data
    • Security

Jump in and explore the hundreds of paths available on Pluralsight (opens in new tab).

Practice exams and Skill IQ assessments

Many paths include certification practice exams to help you prepare for industry-recognized certifications. These paths are marked with:

    • A practice exam tag in browse
    • A practice exam label on the paths page

Many paths also include a Skill IQ assessment to help you determine where to begin. When you take a Skill IQ assessment, you’re placed at the level that matches your current knowledge. You can retake that same assessment later to measure how far you’ve progressed.

    Syncing your path progress

Your path progress updates as you complete courses within it. However, if you watch a course outside the path — such as through search or in a channel — it may not be tracked automatically.

Tip: See Adding content to your channel for instructions on adding paths to channels.

    To sync your progress:

    • Open the path.
    • Locate the course you watched.
    • Click into it to register it as viewed within the path.
