How do I sign in to my lab or sandbox?
  1. While in Isolation mode, use one of the links above to open the sign-in page for your lab's or sandbox’s cloud provider within the remote desktop.
  2. Return to your opened lab or sandbox and copy your username. Return to your Isolation mode tab and paste the username into the provided clipboard. Then do the same with your password.

Note: If you’re working in an AWS lab or sandbox, you’ll also need to copy the account ID from the URL provided on the lab or sandbox page and paste it into your clipboard. This ID is the numerical string at the beginning of the URL (e.g., https://############.signin.aws.amazon.com/console?region=us-east-1).

  3. Copy your credentials from the clipboard, then right-click and select Paste to paste them into the fields on the sign-in page.

Note: You can use copy and paste keyboard shortcuts in the clipboard, but not the Isolation mode browser. Right-click to access these shortcuts.

How do I access my virtual machine/cloud server?

There’s a link to the Instant Terminal in your bookmarks bar in the Isolation mode browser. Use this terminal to connect to your virtual machine/cloud server.

How can I find my AWS sandbox’s account ID?

If you’re working in an AWS lab or sandbox, you’ll need the account ID from the URL provided on the lab or sandbox page in order to sign in. This ID is the numerical string at the beginning of the URL (e.g., https://############.signin.aws.amazon.com/console?region=us-east-1).

What is Isolation mode?

Isolation mode is the most secure way to access our hands-on labs and cloud sandboxes. Specifically designed for organizations concerned about data exfiltration, Isolation mode adds an additional layer of security by restricting file uploads, downloads, and copy-paste functions, and limits IP addresses and domains. It eliminates the risk of personal or sensitive data being uploaded into public cloud environments and allows you to safely access cloud provider consoles that may typically be restricted on your network.

Why do I need Isolation mode?

You'll need to use isolation mode if your plan admin has enabled it to allow you to safely access hands-on labs and sandboxes while using your corporate network. This helps safeguard your environment and reduces the risk of data exfiltration.

Do I have to use Isolation mode when I’m working at home on my own network?

No. Isolation mode is intended for use while you're using your corporate network to reduce the risk of data exfiltration. When you're learning and practicing from a non-corporate device, you can use labs and sandboxes without Isolation mode.

How long will my session last?

Each Isolation mode session lasts for 4 hours. If you’re still working in your lab or sandbox environment when your Isolation mode session ends, simply start a new Isolation mode session and re-enter your credentials to continue your work.

Will I lose my work if my Isolation mode session expires before I’m done with my lab or sandbox?

No. Simply start a new Isolation mode session and re-enter your credentials to continue your work.

Why aren't copy and paste working in the Isolation mode browser?

For enhanced security, we limit the ability to copy and paste in the Isolation mode browser (Firefox). You can simply copy the lab or sandbox URL and credentials into the Firefox clipboard first, then paste into the browser.

Will I be able to access all of the standard cloud services, or are there additional restrictions?

Isolation mode offers the standard available services for labs and cloud sandboxes. For additional details, please see supported services and restrictions for AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Does Isolation mode affect admin reporting?

No. Isolation mode doesn’t change how admin reporting works. Lab usage and consumption are tracked the same way, whether users access a lab directly or through Isolation mode.
