The Pluralsight AI MCP can help learners and leaders surface Pluralsight content and analytics and connect learning with your data and code.
Important: AI recommendations may be inaccurate and should be verified independently.
Getting Started
The Pluralsight AI MCP lets you connect your AI tool with Pluralsight. You can find content, surface analytics, create learning plans, and more while remaining in your chosen AI tool.
Plan-level setup
If your team plan was created prior to Oct 7, 2026, speak to your Pluralsight contact to opt in to the AI MCP and receive important setup materials. If your team plan was created on or after Oct 7, speak to your contact for setup materials. Learn more about finding your contact in Working with your Pluralsight account team.
For information about how Pluralsight uses your data, see Pluralsight Artificial Intelligence Terms of Use (opens in new tab) and our Privacy Notice (opens in new tab).
Individual user-level setup
For most of the supported AI tools, setup at the plan level must occur before individual users can use the Pluralsight AI MCP. Once this is done, the user should be able to connect the MCP to their AI tool. See your AI tool’s help documentation for details on connecting an MCP. You will likely need to sign in to both Pluralsight and your organization’s AI tool to allow the correct connections and permissions.
What you can do with the Pluralsight AI MCP
The Pluralsight AI MCP allows you to perform different tasks related to Pluralsight content and analytics while remaining in the AI tool of your choice. You can also combine the abilities of the Pluralsight AI MCP with other data such as organizational code or documentation to find further learning insights and opportunities.
The MCP uses your specific plan’s library access and the individual user’s Pluralsight permissions to ensure you and your team see relevant information and content.
Pluralsight MCP supports the following AI tools:
- Anthropic Claude Chat, Code, and Cowork
- Cursor
- Github VS Code and Copilot Chat
- Google Gemini Enterprise
- Microsoft Copilot
- OpenAI ChatGPT
Available tools
Both learners and leaders can use the Pluralsight AI MCP to progress in different goals.
- Analytics: retrieve your personal history and recent learning, explore and execute team analytic queries (based on Pluralsight permissions)
- Channels: retrieve a list of channels and their details, create and update channels and assign a team to a channel (based on channel role and Pluralsight permissions)
- Feedback: give feedback for technical issues, unmet expectations, helpful features or content, or additional comments and suggestions
- Search: retrieve recent content interactions, search course clips and other content by type and level, search the Help Center
Example scenarios
In the following example scenarios, you can see how a learner and a leader might use the Pluralsight AI MCP differently to achieve their goals.
Important: Users can only see analytics for teams they manage and their own personal watch history. Outputs may differ based on your plan’s library access and the AI tool you use.
Learners
Learners can use the MCP to further their learning journey and prepare for their next steps of development as well as surface what they’ve been learning recently.
The following is an example scenario of how a learner might use the MCP.
Sydney has been learning front-end development and is confident in her abilities with HTML and CSS, but she wants to add more interactive and dynamic content to her webpages with JavaScript.
She connects the Pluralsight AI MCP to her AI tool and links to examples of JavaScript she’d like to learn to create. She asks the AI tool what concepts she would need to know to create JavaScript code similar to her examples. The tool returns a list of concepts. She then asks the AI tool to look at Pluralsight content and create a learning plan based on those concepts. The AI tool activates several Pluralsight AI MCP tools and returns a plan for Sydney. She asks for a few tweaks and adjustments based on her availability to learn.
Once she has the plan adjusted to her liking, she asks the AI tool to create a channel so she can track her learning. Another MCP tool is activated and a channel is created. Since Sydney isn’t a plan admin or team manager, the channel is private. She can return to the AI tool and add more content to her channel as needed.
Leaders
Leaders can use the MCP to explore analytics queries, retrieve recent content interactions, create and update channels, and add a team to a channel.
The following is an example scenario of how a leader might use the MCP.
Rahul leads a group of developers. He wants to know what they’ve been learning for professional development and how that’s been affecting their code. He has already connected the GitLab and Jira MCPs to the AI tool his company uses. He connects the Pluralsight AI MCP as well.
Rahul asks about ticket cycle times in Jira and GitLab commits for the time periods before and after professional development. The AI tool activates different MCP tools based on the types of information he’s looking for. Rahul asks for further details and information until he has the information he’s looking for and asks the AI tool to generate reports based on the findings.
Wanting to continue with his team’s progress and momentum, Rahul asks the AI tool to surface what they should learn next. The tool returns a list of relevant Pluralsight content including assessments, courses, and labs and asks if Rahul would like the content organized into a channel. He acknowledges that he would and the tool creates a channel. Rahul then assigns his team via the AI tool and shares a link to the channel in his team’s comms via the Slack MCP.
Common solutions
My leader said that the Pluralsight AI MCP is set up for our plan, but none of the tools are working when I try to query them. What’s wrong?
A few things could be causing this issue:
- Even after the MCP is connected to your plan, individual users will still need to connect the MCP in their AI tool instance. See your AI tool’s help documentation for details on connecting an MCP.
- If you still don’t see the MCP as an option, you may not be on the team plan connected to your organization's AI tool. You may need additional permissions in your organization’s AI tool for some features to function or specific instructions from your leader.
- If you still don’t see the MCP as an option, your leader may need to speak to their Pluralsight contact.
I'm an admin. Can I turn on the MCP for some learners but not others?
No—the MCP can only be enabled at the plan level.
Does Pluralsight or my organization govern my usage caps for the MCP?
The Pluralsight AI MCP has a set number of tool calls allowed per user per day, while your organization may have usage limits based on token quotas or other factors.
Can I use my personal license for an AI tool with the MCP?
No—You won’t see the Pluralsight AI MCP in an AI tool that hasn’t been previously connected to your Pluralsight plan.
Do I need to be on the team plan to access the MCP?
Yes—You need to be a member of a team plan and have a license for your organization’s AI tool in order to access the MCP and its tools.
I’m a leader. Why can’t I see data for my learners?
You are likely not added as a manager to the teams you’re trying to query. You must be a manager for a team in order to see or query their data.
