Getting the app
Search Pluralsight in the Apple TV App Store to download the app. You need a paid Pluralsight Skills subscription to watch video content, but there is no additional fee for downloading or using the app.
Logging in to the app
There are two ways to log in: one-tap with iPhone/iPad, or authorization with a code from a browser.
Log in with iPhone/iPad
- Once you download and open the Pluralsight Apple TV app, click the option One-tap Sign in with iPhone/iPad on the welcome screen.
- Follow the instructions on your TV to open the Pluralsight app on your iPhone or iPad.
Note: Your iPhone or iPad must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV and you must be logged in to the Pluralsight iOS app.
- A prompt will appear from Apple TV. Click Sign in on [your Apple TV’s name] to log in.
You're now logged in to the Pluralsight Apple TV app.
Tip: If you don’t see the prompt in the Pluralsight app on your iPhone or iPad, tap the gear icon on the top left of the home page to go to Settings, then tap Sign in on Apple TV and try the above steps again.
Authorize with code from a browser
Important: Each device should only be authorized once. Before authorizing a new device, check the Devices tab on the Account page (opens in new tab) for a list of your authorized devices, and click Remove next to any duplicates.
- Once you download and open the Pluralsight Apple TV app, Click Authorize with a code on the welcome screen.
- Follow the instructions on your TV to go to pluralsight.com/auth (opens in new tab) on a browser.
- On your account page under the Devices tab, enter the 6-digit code displayed on your TV in the Security code field and click Add device.
You're now logged in to the Pluralsight Apple TV app.
Watching video courses
Find courses to watch on the Home page, Browse, or Search. Once you’ve found a course to watch, click the course to view the course details page. To begin playing the course, click the course thumbnail, or click one of the clips in the table of contents to start watching from that point.
Adding a course to a channel
- Click the course you want to add to a channel.
- On the course details page, click the channel icon with a plus sign.
- From the menu that appears, choose which channel you want to add the course to, or click + New channel to name and create a new channel to add the course to.
You can access your channels from the home page on the Apple TV app. However, you'll need to use your browser or mobile device to modify channels or remove courses from channels.
Bookmarking a course
- Click the course you want to bookmark.
- On the course details page, click the bookmark icon.
- The icon will turn solid to indicate that the course has been bookmarked.
To remove a bookmark, click the bookmark icon again. You can access your bookmarks at any time at the bottom of the home page.
Turning on subtitles for video courses
While playing a course, swipe down on the Siri touch remote's touch surface. If the course has subtitles available, you'll be able to hover over a Subtitles option. Click the default language or Auto to turn on subtitles.
Logging out of the app
To log out of the Apple TV app, hover over Settings from the top menu and then click Sign out.
Closing the app
To close the app, double-press the TV/Control Center button to see all your open applications. Swipe left or right on the touch surface to select the Pluralsight app, then swipe up to close the app.
