How to use device authorization or single sign-on (SSO) to sign in to the macOS or Windows app

Both the Windows and macOS apps support sign-in using a password and the primary email address or username. Use device authorization instead of your email/password to log in, or for macOS users on an SSO-enabled business plan, use single sign-on (SSO) to log in through your SSO provider. Steps for both options are below.

Signing in using device authorization

Any active user can use device authorization to make logging in to our desktop apps easier. Device authorization allows you to log in without entering your username and password. Once a device is authorized, changing your password won’t require your device to re-authenticate.

Important: Each device should only be authorized once. If you have a device that has been authorized multiple times, please remove duplicate authorizations.

To use device authorization for the macOS app:

  1. Open the Pluralsight app
  2. Click the Use Single Sign-On button
  3. Click Authorize your device with a code
  4. Note the 6-digit code and follow the link to log in to your Pluralsight account
  5. In your Account page, enter the 6-digit code in the field under the Devices tab. Each code expires after 15 minutes.

To use device authorization for the Windows app:

  1. Open the Pluralsight app
  2. Click Sign in using a Company, School, or Digital-Tutors account
  3. Note the 6-digit code and follow the link to log in to your Pluralsight account.
  4. In your Account page, enter the 6-digit code in the field under the devices tab. Each code expires after 15 minutes.

Manage your devices anytime on your Account page. To remove a device from your authorized devices list, go to your Account page in your browser and click on the Devices tab. Next to the device you would like to remove from your authorized devices list, click Remove.

Signing in to the macOS app using single sign-on (SSO)

Note: SSO is only available on the macOS app. Use the device authorization steps above if you’re using the Windows app.

For business plans looking to sign in via single sign-on, please follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Pluralsight app
  2. Click the Use Single Sign-On (SSO) button
  3. Enter your company URL
  4. Click Continue
  5. You are now successfully logged in to Pluralsight

Note: If you are not logged in to your SSO provider, you will be redirected to your provider to finalize login.
