Updating your license

Tags: Flow on-prem

When you renew your license or extend your trial, you will need to update your license.  This is a very simple process.

Standard Installations

For customers that used the standard method of installation, updating Flow Enterprise the system will automatically look for license changes.  No action is required on your part.  However, if you need an immediate update, you can force the license sync.

First, go to the settings menu in the Replicated dashboard of your installation.

You should now be presented with your license information.  Click Sync License.

After you click Sync License, your license should update with new information.

Airgapped Installations

For customers that used the airgapped method of installation, the license update process is only a little more complicated.  Since the server cannot contact our licensing API, the license must be uploaded to the server manually.

Step One: Get the License

You should receive the license file from Flow.  This file will end with the ".rli" extension.  Download it to your computer.

Step Two: Upload the New License to the Server

The  airgapped server checks for licenses in a very specific place.  To verify the license location, please go to the settings icon in the Replicated dashboard and choose Console Settings.

The system should show you the following page that indicates where your license should be placed:

Upload your license file to the path that has been specified in the License File field.

Step Three: Sync the License

Go to the settings menu in the Replicated dashboard of your installation.

You should now be presented with your license information.  Click Sync License.

After you click Sync License, your license should update with new information.
