Introduction to Tech Foundations
Tech Foundations is a curated experience that includes video courses and assessments for important technology topics. Tech Foundations gives learners the digital fluency to engage in technical conversations.
Getting started for admin
Important: Your Tech Foundations program must be published before learners can use it. This includes plans which had Tech Foundations licenses before customization was launched. If your learners are experiencing issues accessing Tech Foundations, ensure your program is published.
Tech Foundations is sold as a standalone license. You can purchase licenses to be used by themselves or to be used in conjunction with Skills licenses.
If you already have a Skills plan, reach out to your Pluralsight contact for more information about purchasing Tech Foundations licenses in addition to your Skills licenses. If you are new to Pluralsight and would like to set up a plan with Tech Foundations, please contact Pluralsight Sales (opens email form).

Signing in
See Accepting a team plan invite to learn how to set up your account. If your company uses single-sign on (SSO), see Signing in to Pluralsight using SSO for the first time.
Accessing Tech Foundations
Once you've signed in:
- On the Home page, click View topics on the Tech Foundation widget.
- Click on a topic from the Tech Foundations page.
- Choose to watch the topic video or take the assessment.
You can also choose from selected Tech Foundations on the widget on the home page. Once you've made a selection, continue on your learning journey. See Tech Foundations features for details about topic videos and assessments.
Tech Foundations topic videos and assessments are also available on our mobile apps. Visit the downloads page (opens in new tab) to download the Pluralsight app and start learning.
Troubleshooting and accessibility
Assessment accessibility
Tech Foundations assessments have been designed with screen readers in mind. To take an assessment using a screen reader:
- Navigate to a topic and open a topic assessment.
- Start the assessment.
- Tab into the question. The screen reader will announce the question number out of total questions. The screen reader will then read the question aloud.
- Tab into the first answer. The screen reader will announce the answer text followed by the answer number out of total answer options for that question.
- Use the up and down arrow keys to navigate between answers. The screen reader will announce the answer text each time. When the screen reader announces the answer text, that answer is selected.
- Remain on your chosen answer and press tab twice to navigate to the Submit Answer button.
Note: Tabbing once will read a link which asks you to submit feedback regarding the content on the page.
- Press enter/return on your keyboard to submit your answer. You’ll be taken to the next question.
- Repeat previous steps until assessment is completed.
Errors
If you experience an error, try the following:
You see the message You haven't been granted access for this content. Contact your administrator for access on the Tech Foundations curation page.
You haven't been granted access to Tech Foundations or your admin hasn’t published your program. If this banner persists after you have confirmed access with your plan admin, clear your browser's cache.
You don’t see the Tech Foundations widget on your learner home page or Tech Foundations doesn’t appear in the Learner navigation menu.
Your Tech Foundations program hasn’t been published. An admin will need to publish the program from the Tech Foundations program page (opens in new tab).
You've never played a video on Skills, and receive an error when trying to watch the course.
Make sure you’re using one of our recommended browsers without any active extensions or add-ons on your browser. Some browser extensions interfere with video playback. If you don't see any improvement try using a different browser.
Your program progress or assessment score are not updating.
Refresh your browser. You may need to wait some time for progress or scores to update.
As an admin, you don’t see Edit on the Tech Foundations program page.
Check you are on Leader navigation, not Learner navigation. This is on the navigation menu.Advanced troubleshooting
