Certification practice exams overview
Note: Access to practice exams depends on your subscription or team plan type as well as your content library type.
A certification practice exam is a study aid to prepare you to take a specific professional certification exam. Pluralsight offers access to two types of certification practice exams. The first type is created and hosted by Pluralsight. The second type is created and hosted by CyberVista and are available in partnership with Pluralsight. Both types are free and offer unlimited access and attempts.
You can use practice exams with its accompanying certification preparation path or as a standalone practice tool. If you’re new to a certification exam, you can start by watching the preparation path or seeing what you already know by attempting the practice exam. If you’re renewing your certification, you can attempt the practice exam to see where you need to refresh your knowledge.
Practice exams are only available on the web browser.

Pluralsight practice exams
Pluralsight practice exams are exclusive to Pluralsight Skills. Each practice exam simulates a specific certification exam. Practice exams reflect the specifications set by each accreditation body. This means that each practice exam will vary in time allowed, number of domains covered, and number of questions.
Taking a practice exam
Prior to each practice exam attempt, you’ll be informed of the number of questions and how long you have to answer each question. If you want to practice without the timer, toggle the timer off before beginning your attempt. Once you’ve started an attempt, you can’t turn the timer on or off until you start with a new attempt.
During the practice exam attempt, you’ll be given questions drawn randomly from an answer bank. Questions can be multiple choice or multiselect, where more than one choice can be selected. If you want to flag a question for review, click on the flag icon on the question screen and then move on to the next question.
Questions can be answered in any order and you can jump to any other question by clicking the corresponding question number in the question navigation bar. The question navigation bar shows the status of each question.
If you need to leave your practice exam attempt, the timer will pause and your progress will be saved for 14 days. After that time, you’ll need to start the exam again from the beginning with new questions drawn from the answer bank.
Click Submit for results when you’ve completed the practice exam. You’ll be shown a confirmation message, listing the number of questions you have flagged for review or haven’t answered. If you wish to return to review flagged or unanswered questions, click Cancel to return to the practice exam. If you are satisfied with your attempt, click Yes, submit. When the timer expires, your practice exam attempt will end without letting you review flagged or unanswered questions.
Understanding your results
When you complete your attempt, you’ll see your overall score expressed as a percentage. You’ll also see your results organized by domain, letting you know what areas you excelled in and what areas require further review or learning.
Questions are organized by domain. For each question you answered, you’ll see your answer(s), the correct answer(s), and reasoning behind that answer with a link to additional material. To protect the integrity of the question bank, if you didn’t answer a question, you won’t be able to see the answer.
