Occasionally, students encounter questions on exams that seem unexpected or outside the scope of their course. Here's why this might happen:
- Exam scope
AWS exams may cover any service within their environment. Topics vary in frequency: core topics (Red) appear consistently, frequent ones (Green) often, and less common ones (Dark Blue) rarely. Visualize this as a circular bell curve or dartboard.
- Different exam focuses
A topic that’s a fringe element in one exam, for example, Architecture, may be central to another. Each exam emphasizes different areas, so the scope can vary.
- Course content
Including every potential topic would make courses excessively long and less focused. Instead, courses concentrate on core material necessary for passing the exam and gaining competence.
