Analytics by learning type gives you a content-centric view of your team's learning. It offers both a high-level overview and the ability to drill down into specific details and actionable data.
Important: This article describes features in the new analytics page. If your plan uses legacy analytics, please see one of the following articles instead:

Navigating the page
From the Leader navigation pane, click Analytics (opens in new tab). If not already selected, click By learning type.
The first section of the By learning type page contains the filters. A summary of your current filter selections is displayed below the filters for quick reference.
The information displayed on the rest of the page depends on your selection in the Learning type filter.
All learning types
Selecting All learning types displays data and visualizations of two key time-based metrics:
-
Learning time: Actual time spent across the following learning types:
- Practice exams
- Hands-on labs
- Skill IQ
- Video clips
-
Practice time: Time spent in open-ended playground environments, including:
- Sandboxes
- Cloud server
Note that the following learning types are not included in either of the above metrics:
- Certifications: Displays industry certifications the learner has manually uploaded—does not represent time spent on the Pluralsight platform
- Prompt sandbox: Displays number of prompts completed rather than time spent
Individual learning types
Selecting one of the individual learning types displays data specific to that learning type. Each of these views includes an overview section showing key high-level metrics. Keep in mind that this data—as well as the data in the table that follows—is specific to the filters you have set. See Understanding the data (below) for a listing of data for each learning type.
Below the overview is a table listing your learners' interactions with content from the selected learning type. Depending on your screen resolution, you may need to scroll horizontally to see all columns of the table. If any entry in the table is truncated due to column width, you can hover your mouse to see the full text. The Search table box helps you quickly find a specific entry in the table.
Some content types list specific pieces of content in the table, while others list the learners who have interacted with it. In either case, you can continue to drill down for more detail by clicking the table entries until you get to an individual learner's page. This view is specific to that learner's interactions with the respective piece of content.
Filtering the data
Several filters let you customize your view of the analytics data. As you move between views on the analytics page, your filter selections are remembered, even if they don’t apply to the current view. However, if you leave the analytics page (including visiting Tech foundations analytics) and come back to it, the filters reset to their default states.

Downloading CSV reports
With All learning types or Courses selected in the Learning type filter, you can download CSV (comma-separated values) reports for more detailed data. Click the Export analytics button for the learning type you selected.
Depending on the size of your plan and the scope of your filter selections, this may take some time to process. You’ll see a badge in your Notifications letting you know the downloads are complete so you can save them to your desired location. Once downloaded, open the CSV files in a spreadsheet program.
